New Habit for Week of December 18
Each week, I’m going to announce a new habit to try to either get in more exercise or improve eating habits. I’m going to try each for a week and then decide whether I think it will be beneficial to continue it.
I’m hoping that this will be a simple technique to aid in weight loss.
For this week… No second helpings! With the holidays fast approaching, what better time to start to think more about portion control? Face it, if you’re like me it’s not just what you eat but how much. Even if your meal is pretty healthy fare, it’s still easy to simply eat too much food.
How many second helpings do you help yourself to a day? A week? For me, it’s about five or so a week. Assume each of those is only 200 calories, and by cutting them out, I’ve saved 1000 calories this week. How many calories can you save by passing on seconds?
