Half of Me is a weight loss blog I ran across a few days ago. She’s also written a book, Half-Assed, about her weight loss struggles. Yep, you may have guessed it; she’s lost HALF her body weight.
Wow. I’m enjoying her blog because she’s a bit irreverent, and she’s honest about what a struggle it is to lose weight and keep it off. She’s in that second stage now, trying to not fall into the old habits and see the weight creep back on.
I highly recommend it for some fun and inspiring reading.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to do with this blog. To be honest, I just don’t have a lot to say about diet and exercise that’s not old news for most people. If you’re interested in this topic, then you probably know HOW to lose weight. It’s the doing that gets tricky.
So… I’m planning on branching out a bit. As I’ve talked about before, I think our attitudes play a big role in our weights, more so than our diet and exercise habits really. I plan to start writing more about those types of issues, which I think will give me better fodder for the blog.
You’ll still see the tips and recipes just like now, but you’ll be seeing more articles about other issues like stress management, positive attitudes, dealing with negative people, etc., with a weight loss slant.
I’m looking forward to the new direction, and I hope all my readers enjoy it too.
The last few weeks have been busy. Knitting for my Mom’s Mother’s Day present has taken up practically every spare moment. And no, I still didn’t finish it in time.
I do have quite a few updates. We have two new kittens, I had a birthday, and lots of other things are going on. I’ll do a “real” update as soon as I can.
Here are some popular posts from the last few weeks, in case you missed any of them.
I’ve had a few issues with this theme for a while, so I’ll be making a switch tonight. If things look a bit funky for a while, that’s why.
Update:
I think everything’s working okay. If you notice any problems, send me an email or comment here. Thanks!
I’ve been sick this week with a terrible case of the flu. I think I’m finally on the mend, so I’ll get back to my posting schedule soon.
I’m working on increasing my RSS subscribers. My subscriber numbers are really low for the amount of traffic I get so I’m hoping to fix that.
So… if you haven’t already, please take a second to subscribe to my feed. You can do so in a reader or by email. Either way, you’ll be sure not to miss anything!
Thanks much.
Jimmy Moore has a great low-carb site. He’s also detailing the progress of his and his wife’s IVF treatments, so if you’re interested in either, this is a great site to check out. If you like it, check out the link to buy his wife’s handmade jewelry. They’re raising money to pay for a $18,000 IVF bill.
Zen Habits has a great list of funny You Tube videos.
43Folders has a great post on organizing your environment. With the stress of the holidays upon us, this is a great opportunity to de-stress one part of your life.
I’d like to see a WordPress plugin that would make it easier to add related posts while allowing some control over what posts are added. I’d like to see
What I often see in using some of the plugins I’ve tried is that the posts may share a keyword, but they really don’t “go” together as well as I’d like. I can always add posts manually, but that’s too time-consuming.
Something like this, I think, would give the control of choosing posts manually and the convenience of having a plugin add them automatically.
This post is an entry in Marco Richter’s group writing project. The deadline isn’t until the 21st, so you still have plenty of time to enter.
